SEVN pieces are intentionally designed for simple layering, allowing multiple necklaces to be worn together effortlessly.

Choosing the right necklace length can change the entire look and feel of a piece. The guide below will help you understand how different chain lengths sit on the neckline so you can find the fit that feels most natural for you.

Many necklaces can also be styled in layers, allowing you to combine different lengths to create a look that feels personal and effortless.

NECKLACE LENGTH CHART

Length (in) Length (cm)
14" 35.6 cm
16" 40.6 cm
18" 45.7 cm
20" 50.8 cm
22" 55.9 cm
24" 61.0 cm

HOW NECKLACE LENGTHS FALL

14" Sits closely around the base of the neck, similar to a choker length.

16" Rests gently at the collarbone and is one of the most classic everyday necklace lengths.

18" Falls just below the collarbone and is the most common length for pendants and layering.

20" Sits slightly lower on the chest and works well as a longer layering piece.

22" – 24" Creates a longer drop and is often styled with pendants or layered with shorter chains.

HOW TO FIND YOUR IDEAL LENGTH

  • Use a piece of string or ribbon and place it around your neck.
  • Adjust the string until it sits where you would like your necklace to fall.
  • Lay the string flat and measure the length with a ruler in inches.
  • Compare your measurement with the necklace length chart above.

LAYERING TIP

Layering necklaces in different lengths creates depth while keeping each piece visible. A common combination includes:

16" base chain
18" layering chain
20" or longer pendant chain

Selecting lengths that are at least two inches apart helps prevent overlap and allows each necklace to sit comfortably.
